As I mentioned in my end of year comments, last year I spent time obtaining the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^TM and Chartered Wealth Manager designations to go with my Chartered Financial Planner status. The recognition of our work from the awarding bodies is fantastic to receive and it is always a very pleasant thing to be recognised by your peers.

What’s more important, however, is that we are doing a great job for our clients. It therefore gives me immense pleasure to tell you that I recently qualified for a listing in VouchedFor’s 2020 Guide to the UK’s Top Rated Financial Advisers, which was distributed in The Times, for the second year in a row.

The reason this is so important to me is that it is based on client reviews. I’ve included some details on exactly how VouchedFor works below, but the basis for the system is entirely down to positive client feedback. If you do not have absolute proof from a number of clients that you are delivering excellent financial planning then you just do not get included in the guide. As such, the guide includes many outstanding advisers and planners and I’d like to congratulate all of those who made it into the 2020 edition – a great achievement – well done!

• It monitors numerous data points to detect potentially fraudulent reviews, conducting investigations wherever required.

• It asks professionals to verify each reviewer is a genuine client, which means unlike most review sites, it knows exactly who’s behind any fraud it spots.

• Where a professional does not verify a reviewer, VouchedFor contacts the reviewer to verify their identity – so professionals can’t just verify the clients they know are going to leave a positive review!

• VouchedFor never edits reviews – whether good or bad – but it does provide advisers a public right of reply.

• Ratings and reviews are based on feedback from genuine clients, which is extremely useful if you’re looking to contact a local professional.

What is VouchedFor’s 2020 Guide to the UK’s Top Rated Financial Advisers?

The 2020 Guide to the UK’s Top Rated Financial Advisers aims to help people understand how advice could benefit them and celebrates financial and mortgage advisers who are delivering excellent outcomes for their clients.

As well as being endorsed by at least 10 clients, each adviser included in the guide is a fully verified member of VouchedFor, which means VouchedFor has checked that they have the necessary permissions to practice, in line with the latest Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules.

VouchedFor members also undergo several other checks and ongoing monitoring. For instance, VouchedFor checks advisers’ identity, qualifications and client reviews. It also monitors news outlets and the outcomes for everyone who contacts an adviser through VouchedFor.
